Cola®Teric BBS Offers Sustainable Babassu Oil as a Hydroxysultaine for Personal Care Formulations

SOUTH PITTSBURG, TENN. (April 30, 2019): Colonial Chemical is pleased to introduce Cola®Teric BBS (proposed INCI: Babassuamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine) to its growing offering of hydroxysultaine products. Cola®Teric BBS is a mild surfactant derived from Babassu Oil, a sustainably grown and harvested oil from Brazil. Cola®Teric BBS offers enhanced foaming and viscosity building properties compared to traditional Coconut or Palm Kernel products. Cola®Teric BBS has a high active content and is supplied preservative-free.

“Environmental aspects such as sustainable raw sources are playing an increasingly important role in consumers’ purchasing decisions. Cola®Teric BBS is a significant means of satisfying our customers’ requests in this regard, enabling them to formulate high-foaming products that meet global regulatory requirements and perform in formulations,” says Dennis Abbeduto, Business Manager for Personal Care Products, Colonial Chemical.

Colonial Chemical will introduce the latest addition to the Cola®Teric product family at the NYSCC Suppliers Day Show in May. At the trade show in New York, Colonial will also provide visitors with information about other products in the Cola®Teric family, which all combine the distinct advantages of hydroxysultaine chemistry as a low-residual alternative to betaines – and with no California Proposition 65 concerns.
