Cola®Lube 3430 is a boundary lubricant additive from a complex polyester based on fatty acids, dicarboxylic acids and polyvalent alcohols. As a polar polymer, Cola®Lube 3430 contains an additional acid function which can be neutralized. The multiple functional groups of the polymer demonstrate a high affinity to multiple metal surfaces. Due to its polymer nature, Cola®Lube 3430 stabilizes the emulsion and develops a protective colloid.

Cola®Lube 3430 performs well in water-based semi-synthetics and soluble oils, has good lubricity and anti-wear properties. It may be used as a component for non-water miscible metal working fluids such as cutting oils or deep drawing oils and is stable against hydrolysis in alkaline media (pH approx. 9.5).

Cola®Lube 3430 is easy to formulate. Its chemical structure influences the droplet size of the emulsions and corrosion inhibition and foaming properties of other materials in the formulation are unaffected. Cola®Lube 3430 is non-staining to ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
