Colonial Chemical was pleased to host a groundbreaking celebration today of its newest warehouse addition to the plant in New Hope, TN. Elected officials from throughout Marion County were in attendance along with members from the staff.
The 26,000 square foot building is space for chemical drum racks and tote storage with five additional truck bays. Office space and locker rooms are included for shipping and sampling personnel, along with a lounge area for truck drivers to wait during loadings. The new building will be erected by Gann Construction of South Pittsburg, TN.
“This has already been a busy year at Colonial Chemical – we have upgraded significant systems in our plant, added additional reactor equipment, and moved our administrative offices into a new building,” said David Anderson, President, Colonial Chemical. “We have outgrown our existing warehouses for storage – and we’ve needed additional loading bays for the increased traffic that’s pouring into our plant. Our new warehouse addition will meet our needs for the immediate future.” The new building is adjacent to existing warehouse facilities. Anderson also explained that even as Colonial Chemical is gearing up for new warehouse space, at least two other buildings – including an R&D lab that connects to the new administration building – are in the works.
